Help and support at Poole Food Bank+

Emergency Food & Food Support

We provide food for as long as you need it, including fresh fruit and vegetables when available. Anyone can access the Food Bank however you need a voucher from the BCP Crisis Advice Scheme (see above) – if you have any difficulties with this, please speak with us.

We also run a school food voucher support scheme – if you think you need this, please speak with your school pastoral team.

Our Recipe Bags help families cook together and encourage children to try new foods.  These include a recipe for cooking on a budget and all the ingredients needed to make it.

Homeless & Housing Support

Everyone is warmly welcome at Jimmy’s and our hubs across Poole.  We believe everyone should have a place to call home.  We listen to everyone’s story and take time to help. We signpost you for further advice and support where needed, especially to our friends at Shelter and Routes to Roots.

CMA Debt Advice & Budget Support

The CMA (Community Money Advice) team are based onsite and provide free debt advice and budget support.

We are affiliated to the national Community Money Advice network and authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority.

*Please note that we are unable to take any new referrals until further notice due to being up to capacity in Poole – please see below for alternative debt support.

Alternative debt advice – see Money section

School Holiday Activities & Crafts

We know school holidays can be tough with the extra mouths to feed and finding activities to do. We provide free activity and craft packs to help keep young ones entertained at no extra cost.

Women’s Clothing

We work closely with local social enterprise, Wardrobe Foundation, who provide quality and personalised clothing to women in need of clothing support.

Bespoke gift bags are created for each individual referred, clothes are selected for each individual’s size, style preference and need.

Signposting & Support

We have good relationships with local organisations such as Citizen’s Advice, Shelter, housing departments and the DWP.  People from these organisations often drop in to our cafe area at Jimmy’s, where you can grab a hot drink and chat with them.

We will also help you to connect with other advice and support as needed.  Please feel free to speak with one of our team about anything you feel may help.

Financial donations to the Food Banks are essential as they enable us to purchase food where we are short of items.

Where does the food come from?2023-07-18T10:38:13+01:00

Most of our tinned and packaged food is donated by the public via collection points within local supermarkets.  Alternatively some donors deliver food items directly to the Food Banks.

Fresh fruit and dairy produce (where available) is purchased with money donated by the public or from small grants.
