Carpentry Workshop Trainees Build a Puppy Pen for Guide Dogs

Our Carpentry Workshop recently welcomed some extremely adorable guests of the canine kind.

Here at FW we are honoured to work alongside many incredible charities such as Guide Dogs who commissioned a puppy pen to be handcrafted for use during puppy training.

The project provided a wonderful opportunity for Trainees from charity Help for Heroes, and Dorset Supported Employment Service, Seetec, to develop their woodwork skills

During the making of the pen, the Guide Dogs visited with two puppies in training and their human friends, to see how the project was progressing and broaden the experiences for the trainee dogs.

Rob Cox, Training Development Manager, said:

“We’re extremely proud to work alongside other charities so that, together, we can help people build brighter futures for themselves”.

Our Training Programme provides a supportive, structured environment for those overcoming challenges such as homelessness or those on probation, as they journey towards education, volunteering and employment.  Opportunities include our Carpentry Workshop and our Barista Training course.

If you would like to find out about referring someone to our programme, or if you are a business keen to partner with us, please contact Rob Cox on 07514 816429.
