FW20 Highlights and Looking Forwards

In 2024 Faithworks turned 20 years old and so we decided to celebrate in many fun and inspiring ways!

We launched our special FW20 Celebration Film including stories from those whose lives have been impacted by Faithworks.  You can hear from Abi, Illana and Joe via the link below (simply scroll down for the video).

120 guests joined us in the summer for an official 20th Anniversary Celebration Breakfast. Those who joined us included guests from our projects, past and present staff and trustees, volunteers, local charities, partners, businesses, funders and BCP Council – find out more in the post below…

Of course, there is always cake involved! Alistair, our CEO, hand delivered delicious cupcakes, baked by our friends at the charity Crumbs, to thank our incredible volunteers.

We would not be able to achieve most of the incredible things we do, without your support – volunteers who dedicate their precious time and energy to and those who donate money or through giving food items or furniture.

To stay financially resilient in these challenging times, we need more regular donors, and so we launched our giving campaigns with the launch of our Legacy giving programme, give £20 for 20 months and, of course, who can resist a few Fundraising challenges?!

Iain took up the gauntlet to take on a fundraising boxing challenge never having watched a match before.  He explained:

“To honour the impact Faithworks has on those they help, I wanted to push my mental and physical limits – so I signed up to step into the ring with only 8 weeks of training… It did push me, but the experience has been fantastic.”

From our wonderful trustee, Sarah, who braved the chilly Devon waters to take on the Bantham Swoosh, the ever smiling team from Mazars who ran the Supernova 5K at the Bournemouth Marathon Festival to our CEO who dressed as flamingo, not once but twice, to complete two half-marathons!  We salute you all!

In September we held a Thanksgiving Service to look back and reflect with thankfulness for all God’s provision and faithfulness over the last 2 decades.  We decided to get our CEO together with Katie, a local church leader and Sam for a conversation about how faith truly works! Watch the short film below…

You can find out more about the difference our projects have made throughout 2024 in our Impact Report below. As our 21st year gets underway, we continue to look forward with hope and to be adventurous in our work and faith. Because we really believe that faith works!
