Launching FW20/20: Sponsored Events Campaign

Following our 20th Anniversary Celebration Breakfast we are launching our FW20/20: 20 Sponsored Events Campaign!

Our 20th birthday marks 20 years of being alongside people as they journey from crisis to safety, and on to brighter futures of their own making.  However, there is still so much to do, as we continue to walk alongside those facing crisis.

To celebrate 20 years of Faithworks, we decided to look for 20 wonderful people to take on sponsored events.  Every penny raised will help propel our projects forwards. We are calling this our FW20/20 Campaign and we need your help to achieve this!

As with all things, our celebrations reflect our values, including that of being practical. This means that we are resourceful in helping people to gain practical skills for life.

From our Storehouse furniture packs and trainee opportunities for those moving on from homelessness, healthy cooking on a budget ideas from the Food Banks, good money management tips from the CMA team and the inclusive SMILE lone parent families community, we see opportunity and look ahead to find the right solutions.

And the most practical way that people can support our projects is by doing a sponsored event!

There have been many exciting fundraising events previously for Faithworks – a skydiving grandmother, wing-walking mayor and an epic climb up Mount Kilimanjaro!  All brilliant activities that raised vital funds.

Last weekend our wonderful Trustee, Sarah Yetman, launched our FW20/20 Campaign by swimming 6km along the Avon estuary, where the final part of  the river propelled her up to four times her usual speed! Its called the Bantham Swoosh!!

Sarah explained why she swam the swoosh: “Faithworks are a local charity doing great work across BCP and urban Dorset – we’re helping to lift people out of crisis. As a trustee of Faithworks, I’ve seen for myself the brilliant impact of Faithworks projects such as the Carpenter’s Workshop on helping people stand back on their feet after a crisis – this was why I chose to swim the Swoosh in support of their projects. Their work is so inspiring!”

Sarah may have done her Swoosh however there is still time to sponsor Sarah on her fundraising page below!…

And however you choose to help, you are VITAL in our work. There are challenges ahead in every community – but together we continue to push for positive and sustainable change.

Sponsored events do not need to be energetic and sporty, they can be as simple or creative as you like. What challenge will you take on?! We would love to hear from you – email hello@faith-works.org.uk or phone the office on 01202 429037 so we can help you get started.

I want to support Faithworks today
