StreetTalk 24: Enabling BCP Churches to Address Homelessness
“This is an exciting opportunity for Faithworks to partner further with our local Christian community – together offering support and connection for people who are homeless, isolated and alone.
Helping build relationships is key to this new ministry and regardless of experience everyone can play their part to show love.” – David Chidwick, Homelessness Services Lead
Offering hope to those experiencing homelessness in BCP.
BCP has the third highest number of rough sleepers in the country.
It can feel overwhelming when witnessing the levels of rough sleeping across BCP. However, the Bible is clear that God’s heart is for His people to care for those who experience homelessness, through very real, practical ways: food, shelter and clothing (Isaiah chapter 58, verse 7).
Get involved with a new ministry.
Here at Faithworks we are passionate about coming alongside those in crisis, in down to earth but none-the-less life-changing ways.
As autumn approaches we are looking at what response the local Church can have to bolster provision across BCP this winter.
We will be hosting two events, in partnership with St Mike’s Church, to discuss how people can get involved through prayer, volunteering, and donating both financially and practically. Sarah Yetman, Vicar of St Mike’s and St John’s Churches and Faithworks Trustee shared why they chose to host StreetTalk 2024:
“At St Mike’s we’re really aware of the need to offer help and support to those sleeping rough, and historically we’ve had a huge part to play in helping those in need.
We’re excited about the possibilities – we’d love you to come and see how you can be a part of this story”
Come to one of these events to hear powerful stories of how Jesus is changing lives, and find out how you can make a difference to those facing homelessness across BCP this winter.
