The Storehouse
“We found that only 2 per cent of social housing properties are let as furnished or part-furnished compared to 29 per cent in the private rental sector,”*
The Storehouse provides furniture for those moving on from homelessness and emergency accommodation.
With the rise in the cost of living making furniture even more expensive, this poses another challenge for those battling to overcome homelessness.
“Getting access to necessary furniture and appliances is still a huge mountain to climb for many people on low incomes, which means that furniture poverty is affecting millions of individuals and families in the UK. For… people who have escaped homelessness, this difficulty is magnified.”**
The Storehouse project takes donations of good-quality furniture and delivers them to those who have been referred to the project.
Help us to end furniture poverty for those overcoming homelessness by donating your pre-loved, good-quality pieces no longer needed.
Help make someone’s new living space into a home.
