TV Chef Rosemary Shrager Holds Cooking Demo in Aid of Wimborne Foodbank & Community Gardens

Intrepid celebrity TV chef Rosemary Shrager is cycling 450 miles from Lands’ End to the White Cliffs of Dover to raise vital funds and awareness for local food poverty charities including Wimborne Foodbank and Wimborne Community Gardens.

Following a visit to a Foodbank in Hastings, she was “really, really upset” and decided she needed to do something about food insecurity.

The chef decided to plan something that no one expected her to do and so embarked on an epic bike ride across the south coast, while using her voice to raise awareness of food poverty along the way.   In fact, she had to relearn how to ride a bike for the challenge.  The 74 year will pass through towns and villages where Foodbanks provide critical support to many families and individuals.

Hosting cooking demonstrations along the way, Rosemary’s first stop will be part of Wimborne Folk Festival, and held in support of Wimborne Foodbank and Wimborne Community Gardens.

The free event will take place at Wimborne Community Gardens on Saturday 7 June 2025, from 2pm – book your free place (£1 entry to the gardens) below to meet Rosemary, sample her delicious cooking, hear tales from her epic travels, all while helping to raise money for our critical food projects.

Date: Saturday 7 June, 2pm onwards

Where: Wimborne Community Garden, School Lane, Wimborne, BH1 1HQ
