Westbourne Rotary Club Donate to The Storehouse
Westbourne Rotary Club recently sprang into action to provide The Storehouse with mattresses for those moving on from homelessness.
Lynne explained:
“We had a wonderful opportunity to be able to help Faithworks. We were able to buy 12 mattresses and some gardening equipment for the gardening project. I am just really, really happy that our club has been able to help.”
The mattresses were immediately put to good use, with the first few being delivered to their new owners within a few days.
Supported by Faithworks, The Storehouse provides furniture for those moving on from homelessness and emergency accommodation to enable them to set up their own home.
The project is heavily reliant on donations of good quality furniture and is in constant need of maintaining stocks. Mikey, The Storehouse Team Lead, said:
“This is much more than just a furniture delivery service. People are often in tears when we deliver items. These are not just items such as beds, chairs and tables but we are providing a sense of dignity, security and the ability to settle, and to look to the future with hope.”
Thanks to the kindness of local organisations like Westbourne Rotary Club, as well as individual donors, The Storehouse are able to continue providing furniture packs to enable those moving on from homelessness to build a brighter future.
