12 Year Old George Raises Over £5K for Faithworks Homelessness Project

12 year old George has raised a colossal £5,500 by cycling from Poole to Paris, to raise essential funds for our Homelessness project.

He gave up his school half-term holiday to pedal an epic 450 miles, with his Dad Mark, so that he could make a difference to those without a place to call home.

George explained:

“I want to take the homeless off the streets – they don’t have any money or maybe any families.”

George visited Faithworks’ Half-time service along with his parents, Mark and Michelle, to find out first hand where funds may be used.

The project provides face to face appointments for people in our community who are homeless and sleeping on the streets, and includes access to hot showers, lockers, snacks, toiletries, phone charging and the opportunity to talk through issues.

David Chidwick, Faithworks Homeless Services Lead, presented George with a certificate in recognition of his fantastic contribution to the homelessness work:

“What George has achieved is incredible and his efforts will be rewarded by seeing some of our homeless guests get off the streets and find a new home.

On behalf of the homeless George, we salute you.”
