Investor Breakfast – Thursday 13 October 2022
We believe everyone has the right to a home – we are looking for investors to help make this happen
One of the fundamental needs of every human is not just shelter, but a home – a place of safety; a place of friendship. Locally there is a real shortage of homes for those who have experienced homelessness.
We partner with Hope into Action to provide homes for those escaping homelessness using their highly successful and unique model. Local investors buy a property which is leased to Faithworks. We then work alongside local church teams to enable individuals or families to settle in, build friendships and find confidence for the future.
We currently have three homes using this model, but are not content to stop there! We are aiming for a total of twenty. These homes change lives for those moving on from homelessness and vulnerable accommodation.
The process:
Stage one – investments can be made individually or as part of a group (with other matched investors) depending on how much is being invested.
Stage two – is to buy a house. We will support and advise you at every step. You retain ownership of the house and lease it to Hope into Action for five years. We find, place and support the tenants in the house, undertake all the maintenance and target a 2% return on your total investment.
This model is proving successful with tenants, churches and investors. The need for homes is limitless with the rise in levels of homelessness across the country.
As an investor, you can be as involved in the purchase and refurbishment of the house as you wish. Generally we look for three bedroom houses, ideal for two tenants. Each tenant has exclusive use of two rooms and shares the kitchen and bathroom.
Each house is linked to a local partner church who provide mentoring and friendship to the tenants. Each tenant is assigned an experienced Hope into Action Empowerment worker who supports both the tenant and partner church. Your details are kept confidential from the church and tenants.
We keep you up to date with regular reports covering the finances and condition of the property and how the tenants are progressing. And we are always happy to listen to you at any point in the process.
