Reflection, celebration and action!

Time to Reflect and Celebrate

Birthdays are a great opportunity to reflect and particularly so when a significant milestone has been reached. As with all things, our values lie at the heart of all we do – one of which is that we are Trusted, this includes being resilient so that we can help people bounce back from adversity.

As we reflect on and celebrate the last two decades of Faithworks, we invite you to join us in reflection, celebration and action!

As Alistair, our CEO, explains:

“Although life is really rubbish for some people at the moment, it’s good to celebrate, it’s good to tell stories, and it’s essential that we encourage each other.”

Stories like the family who approached us for emergency food support, took up the offer of financial debt advice, and within a few weeks had been helped to find a new home, with support from our expert staff and a local church friendship group.

Stories like Joe and Abi who are facing down the challenges of homelessness and lone parenting with our support – hear them tell their stories in our film below.

Time to say thank you

However, these stories would be non-starters if it wasn’t for the incredible dedication and resilience of numerous volunteers, staff and partners over the last two decades.

Our recent 20th anniversary celebration breakfast provided the perfect setting to thank over 25 long-service volunteers, who have faithfully given their time over the last decade.

Our faith is core to who we are and so we will be holding a thanksgiving service to thank the one we call Father God for answering so many prayers.

The service will be held at Gateway Church on 22 September, 2.30pm – 5.30pm – find out more and book your space below.

People still need people

As we look forwards, we are more passionate than ever that we walk alongside more people on their journey out of crisis. We want to write a new chapter in the Faithworks’ story – will you help us?

We want to be even more ambitious and creative because so many people still long for hope: we want to walk alongside more people with practical material help, with a listening ear in places where people feel safe, and with a willingness to always point to our source of Hope.

So how can you get involved?

20 for 20: You probably know that regular giving to a charity makes a really big difference.  Our projects are almost entirely funded by individuals and grant making bodies.

We are looking for individual donors to commit to giving £20 per month for 20 months to help write the next chapter of the Faithworks story.  Could you join us in this?

FW20/20: Alistair has also promised to dress up again for his annual 2 half-marathons this autumn! All to raise money for the next chapter of the Faithworks’ story.

Alistair invites you to join him:

“We think there are at least another 19 people out there who would love to do something creative to encourage their friends to give money: hula-hoop marathon, jam making epic, long distance walk with a big hat: however big or small, join the FW20 club!”

Legacy Giving: To mark our 20th year we have launched our Legacy giving programme in partnership with Coles Miller. This enables people to make a Will and, if they choose, leave a gift to us to help continue the life-saving work.

You can of course go to any Will provider however our partnership with Coles Miller means that when you make your Will, Faithworks will cover the cost*. Help us to help even more people living through crisis.
*Terms and conditions apply – please see our Legacy leaflet for more information.

Invest in a Home for those escaping Homelessness: We partner with Hope into Action to provide homes for those escaping homelessness – local investors buy a property which is then leased to Faithworks.

We then work alongside local church teams to enable individuals or families to settle in, build friendships and find confidence for the future.

We now have 4 homes and are rapidly moving towards purchasing a fifth home in the Christchurch area.  But we need more investors! Find out more by calling David Chidwick on 07731 858625.

If you would like to get involved with any of the above we would love to hear from you, by emailing hello@faith-works.org.uk or by calling the office on 01202 429037.

To help you stay up to date with all our anniversary celebrations we’ve created a dedicated page with everything on – find out more below…
