Church Partnerships: Poole Lifecentre’s Men That Lunch Group
Our Church Partnerships team is dedicated in supporting church leaders, community mission pioneers, Christian funders, and anyone at a church who wants to make a real difference in their local community.
Sarah Yetman, Vicar of St Mike’s and St John’s Churches in Bournemouth explained:
“Working with Faithworks Church Partnerships team has been transformative for us in making a difference to those in need.
It reminds us to dream dreams and see beyond our own situation to play our part in a bigger story”.
One example of making a practical difference in the local community, is the wonderful Men That Lunch group born out of Poole Lifecentre & Foodbank’s partnership with local Vicar Dan Washbrook, of St Andrew’s Kinson.
This amazing group meets on a regular basis to cook, serve, eat and share together. It’s provided a safe space for men to meet with others, form friendships, share about life’s challenges and enjoy Pete’s famous homemade curries together!
“It’s been a group where we’ve seen men struggling with loneliness, with debt, with other problems, actually begin to talk about it and deal with those things
It’s been food for the body and food for the soul and genuinely we’ve seen it transform lives, change lives and even in some cases save them.” – Vicar Dan Washbrook.
We need more volunteers to help with the running of Men That Lunch – if you would like to get involved email hello@faith-works.org.uk or call Poole Lifecentre on 01202 672694.
