Hope Into Action Conference 20 May 2026: Rooted
On 20th May 2026, join us for Hope into Action’s National Conference in Milton Keynes.
Hope into Action recognises that homelessness is more than houselessness; it means being uprooted, disconnected, and is often accompanied by the trauma of broken relationships.
Hope into Action’s approach to ending homelessness recognises this. It’s why every one of their houses is partnered with a local church who offer friendship and support to our tenants. Accommodation is vital – but so are relationships and a sense of connection with others. We believe homelessness ends in community.
Which is why at Faithworks we are proud to manage the franchise for Hope into Action across Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole. Our 5 supported houses keep families together, help people back into work, and provide safe spaces to move on from addiction and other life challenges to putting down more permanent roots.
Being connected and rooted is at the heart of Hope into Action’s conference this year – sessions will include:
- Keynote speakers will explore Hope into Action’s roots as an organisation and the core Christian principles that underpin the work, and tenants will share about the impact this has had on their lives.
- There will also be a wide range of inspiring seminars about how we stay rooted in hope and help others find those roots too.
Who are the keynote speakers?
Krish Kandiah OBE
- Krish is founder of Sanctuary Foundation which supports refugees to find welcome, work and worthwhile housing in the UK.
- Krish is an activist-theologian who regularly broadcasts and writes on issues of social justice and hospitality.
- He is the author of books, including ‘Paradoxology’ and ‘God is Stranger’.
- He previously founded and led the adoption and fostering charity Home for Good.
Ed Walker MBE
- Ed spent a decade working overseas with Tearfund. When he returned to the UK, he and his wife Rach used their own money to buy a house for men who were homeless and started Hope into Action.
- Ed was Executive Director for 13 years and wrote the book ‘A House Built on Love’ about this incredible journey.
- Since leaving this role he has continued to encourage us in the role of ambassador.
- In September 2023, he joined the A Rocha International as Executive Director – working on protecting and caring for nature and all creation.
Who is the conference for?
The Hope into Action conference is for volunteers, church leaders, professionals, investors and anyone interested in how the church can respond to the UK’s homelessness crisis.
