Wimborne Community Garden Beautiful Borders Show Garden

Our Mission
Wimborne Community Garden’s mission is to grow fresh, healthy produce for Wimborne Foodbank, to bring people together through shared activity, and to create a welcoming space where people can learn, contribute, and feel part of something positive.
We are based within the grounds of Beaucroft Foundation College, working alongside 16 to 19 year old students with learning difficulties, including complex needs. When students join the garden and work alongside our 40 plus volunteers, it becomes a place of real connection. People learn by doing, confidence grows naturally, and there is a strong sense of teamwork and enjoyment in what is achieved together.
Wimborne Community Garden and Wimborne Foodbank are supported by Faithworks, a Dorset-based charity working alongside people facing crisis. This support helps keep food, people, and community working closely together, making the garden a place where practical help and human relationships come together naturally.
Our Exhibit
Our miniature community garden contains plants that are chosen for their sensory, wildlife-friendly, educational or food production contribution, and many provide more than one of these. The Wimborne Community Garden team have sourced, grown, built and exhibited this garden from design to plot themselves, as an inclusive team and with so many members contributing in varied ways to its creation; it’s a glorious community project for a glorious community team! The Designers
Christopher and Victoria Lawrence are a husband-and-wife garden design team with over 10 years of horticultural experience, combining creative design with practical expertise. Specialising in sensory and sustainable gardens, they create immersive outdoor spaces using colour, scent, texture, and sound to connect people with nature.
Victoria, RHS-qualified with a background in wellbeing, nursing and education, brings a strong focus on accessibility and therapeutic design, while Christopher’s extensive experience in the horticultural industry and design training ensure planting schemes that are both beautiful, long-lasting and practical. Together, they offer bespoke sensory gardens and detailed border planting plans, with a shared goal of creating welcoming, meaningful, and restorative spaces tailored to each client.
