Help End Homelessness in BCP Through Your Legacy Giving

“You have saved my life.” – William*, now safely housed.

In just 2 months we have helped 12 rough sleepers off the streets into emergency accommodation, and 9 people into long-term housing.

But with your help we could do more. Our life-saving support costs money, and one way to do this is through our Legacy Giving initiatives – find out more below…

Across Faithworks there are many stories of lives radically transformed through the incredible work happening across our projects, from our Foodbanks to the CMA debt advice service, and from the SMILE solo parents project to our life-changing Homelessness work, people’s lives are being impacted daily by the vital work across Faithworks.

People like William* who was referred to our Homelessness project by the hospital’s homelessness team.  After experiencing an acute mental health crisis and having nowhere to live, he came to our Half-time service, where he found safety and practical help like hot showers and laundry facilities, and a clear plan to move on from homelessness. With support, he is now housed and living with his family again; where he is thriving as a father.

Now every week William comes to the Thursday Club where he has found purpose, an established routine and guidance with setting effective boundaries and forming healthy relationships. Through the cooking sessions he has learnt new recipes which he has taken home to cook alongside his children, creating many happy memories together.

William is now actively volunteering and is doing well.  In his own words, William said: “You have saved my life.”

The Thursday Club has provided a bridge for others to access further development through our Arch Training courses – 9 people have enrolled on our Carpentry Skills and DIY Confidence courses, leading to employment opportunities.

From our Half-time frontline service supporting people with getting off the streets, to the Arch Training courses, our projects equip people with the life-skills, purpose and structure to move off the streets and stay off the streets.

But running these critical services takes valuable funds, which is why we are asking people to invest through legacy giving. One way to do this is by choosing Faithworks for a funeral collection, providing a thoughtful way to honour a loved one.

Instead of flowers, your donations offer practical support and hope to those facing food insecurity, financial hardship, or homelessness. We make the process simple, personal, and handle with care – find out more on our legacy giving web page below…
